2 Ton Wall Mount Air Conditioners

A 2 ton wall mount air conditioner delivers roughly 24,000 BTU/h of cooling from a single self-contained cabinet that bolts to the outside wall of a building. Nothing sits inside the conditioned space, nothing goes on the roof, and there is no separate condenser pad to protect. For small telecom shelters, equipment cabinets, guard shacks, pump houses and single-room modular buildings, it is usually the smallest unit worth specifying.

Both units below are Marvair/Eubank, run on R454B refrigerant, and ship with ground freight included to the contiguous 48 states.

Is 2 tons the right size?

Wall mount units in shelters and equipment rooms are sized against equipment heat load, not floor area. The rule that matters: every 1,000 watts of continuous electrical load inside the space produces about 3,412 BTU/h of heat that has to be removed. A 2 ton unit covers roughly 7 kW of steady internal load before you have used up its capacity, and you want headroom above that for solar gain through the walls, door openings and summer design temperature.

If the space holds more than about 5-6 kW of continuously powered equipment, step up to the 3 ton or 4 ton models rather than running a 2 ton flat out. Undersizing shows up as a unit that never cycles off, which is hard on the compressor and gives you no margin on the hottest day of the year.

Standard or economizer?

An economizer pulls in filtered outside air and uses it for cooling when conditions allow, letting the compressor stay off. In a shelter that needs cooling 8,760 hours a year, that is where the operating cost savings live, and in most of the United States a meaningful share of those hours are cool enough to qualify. The payback is strongest in northern climates and on sites where power is expensive or generator-backed.

Choose the standard model when the site is in a hot, humid climate with few free-cooling hours, when outdoor air quality is poor (coastal salt, heavy dust, industrial particulate), or where the specification does not allow outside air into the space.

Freight and installation

Ground freight is included on every unit sold here, delivered within the contiguous 48 states, shipping from stock rather than built to order. An optional protective crate is available at checkout for sites with rough delivery access.

These are commercial and industrial HVAC units intended for installation and service by a qualified, licensed professional. Confirm electrical service, wall opening dimensions and structural support against the manufacturer's installation literature before ordering.
